Dietary needs for a

Poodle

Protein

Poodles, especially those who have recently been neutered or are reaching their senior years, are at a risk of problems such as obesity, sensitive stomach, or allergies. To give them the best chance in life, they need to be fed a high-quality diet rich in protein. Kabo fresh recipes contain only high-quality, human-grade, real meat. Our single protein recipes include chicken, beef, lamb, turkey and salmon varieties. Each recipe is gently cooked, allowing for easy digestion and nutrient absorption.

Poodles that are allergic to common sources of protein such as chicken should definitely try out and experience falling in love with our Hypoallergenic Salmon recipe. It’s made with limited, allergy friendly, natural ingredients, starting with salmon filets. For Poodles that have an upset stomach or food sensitivities, our Tender Chicken Recipe is the best choice for taming wild tummies. If you are interested in grain free diets for your Poodle, our Savoury Beef recipe is a healthy diet choice.

Carbohydrates & Fiber

While carbohydrates are often overlooked in many conventional dog foods, they are quite vital in maintaining a balanced diet for your pooch. At Kabo, we go beyond utilizing carbohydrates as simply "filler ingredients", with the help of our expert in-house animal nutritionists. Kabo uses only whole natural, human-grade sources of carbohydrates such as russet potato, sweet potato, chickpeas, squash, and rice- depending on the recipe.

Our fruit and vegetable ingredients help keep your Poodle’s diet balanced. Including these high quality, digestible ingredients add natural sources of fiber, minerals and vitamins to your dog’s diet. This helps regulate digestion and prevent bloat that can be caused by typical commercial dog food. Our Canadian sourced vegetables and fresh fruits include red apple, kale, green beans, broccoli, blueberries, and more.

Fats

Fats are a very important part of your Poodle's diet. Animal fats are just what your dog needs to flourish. However, you need to be careful when it comes to catering to your Poodle's fat requirements, as overfeeding fats can lead to obesity and other health conditions like joint stress and cardiovascular diseases.

That said, the type of fat and the amount consumed matter quite a lot. Our food contains a balance of essential fats from our lean meats and is supplemented with human-grade fish oil and sunflower oil to provide both Omega-3 fatty acids and Omega-6 fatty acids. Not only do these promote good heart and joint health for your Poodle, but these supplementary fatty acids help promote a healthy coat and skin. PLUS, you won’t have to purchase any pricey Omega supplements!

Kabo's service and support have been above and beyond excellent! Most importantly, though, is that Abby, my mini Poodle, is an extremely picky eater, and she loves their food. Kudos Kabo on doing such a wonderful job!!
