How is it made?
Our meals are made fresh every single week to meet (and exceed) AAFCO standards. We use all natural ingredients sourced from local suppliers, and cook the food at low temperatures to lock in all of the important nutrients your dog needs to thrive. Once cooked, we package each customized portion into vacuum sealed bags and freeze them before shipping them right to your doorstep.
What is the best way to transition my dog to Kabo?
Just like us humans, dogs need a little bit of time to get accustomed to a new diet. Follow this simple guide to help them with their transition to cleaner, healthier food!
Day 1 & 2: 75% old food, 25% Kabo
Day 3 & 4: 50% old food, 50% Kabo
Day 5 & 6: 25% old food, 75% Kabo
Day 7: 100% fresh, human-grade Kabo!
*These measurements don’t need to be exact. Just estimate the portions to the best of your ability.
During this first week, pay some extra attention to your dog’s poop. You will almost certainly notice a difference in the amount and consistency, but don’t worry because this is perfectly normal! If you notice more of a liquid consistency than usual, just stick with the same percentage of their old food and Kabo food for an extra 1-2 days. For example, if you start to notice runny excrement on day 3, just keep feeding them 50% old food and 50% Kabo for days 4 and 5. After a couple of days you will see their stool returning to normal, and you can continue following the transition guide as outlined above.

How is Kabo packaged?
At Kabo, we really care about our planet. After all, it’s the only planet we currently know about that has dogs on it! Each of our pre-portioned meals are packed in a vacuum sealed bag and flash frozen. We pack these meals in fully recyclable insulated boxes and keep them cold with gel refrigerant bags.
What if my food is not completely frozen when it arrives?
Do not worry! Each pack of food is flash frozen before it leaves our kitchen, and we provide a gel pack to keep everything as cold as possible in our insulated boxes. You may notice that 1 or 2 packs of food have slightly thawed by the time they arrive. Just make sure to put all of the food directly in your freezer, and only keep 2 in your fridge at all times. Storage & Feeding
How much do I feed my dog?
Since each diet plan is customized to your dog’s daily nutritional requirements, it’s easy to know exactly how much to feed them! Each pack is filled with the exact amount of food your doggo needs to eat each day. Most dogs eat twice a day, so we recommend serving ½ of the pack in the morning and the other ½ at dinner time. Just make sure to keep the food refrigerated between feedings.
How should I store the food?
Each of our pre-portioned packs contains the exact amount of food your dog needs each day. We recommend that you keep 2 packs (2 days worth of food) in your refrigerator at all times to ensure that you always have enough food defrosted for your hungry pup! Keep the rest of the packs in your freezer. Every time you finish a pack, just grab another one from your freezer and put in your refrigerator to replace the one your dog just ate.
Accidentally forgot to defrost enough food for the day? No problem! Just put some warm or room-temperature (not hot!) water in a bowl and submerge an unopened pack of food for 5-10 minutes. Once the food is soft and malleable, it’s ready to eat!
How long does the food stay good for?
We vacuum seal our food so that it can stay fresher longer. Even though Kabo food won’t expire for up to 6 months, we recommend that you use the food within 4 months of receiving it. Make sure to keep the food frozen while it’s being stored! Only move the food to your refrigerator 1-2 days before feeding it to your dog.

When am I charged for each shipment?
You will first be charged when you make your initial order of Kabo. Each subsequent charge will be made 6 days before your next 2 week shipment is sent out. If you need to make any changes to your order, all you have to do is contact us at [email protected]
What if my dog doesn’t like the food?
Not to worry! Just like us humans, some dogs take time to transition to a new diet. If you followed our transition guide and your dog still won’t eat their Kabo food, we recommend doing another round of transition starting with Day 1.
