Mixed or unknown breeds need high quality, balanced nutrition, like any other pup. Kabo’s fresh recipes are gently cooked using high-quality, human-grade animal proteins as their primary ingredient. High-quality and digestible proteins in the correct quantities are required to maintain healthy muscles and to prevent other health issues.
If your mixed breed suffers from food allergy due to meat protein, such as protein from chicken meal, try our new Hypoallergenic Salmon recipe, made with limited, non-allergy provoking ingredients. If you’re giving a grain-free diet to your dog, then our Savoury Beef variety will be a perfect choice.
Too many carbs can help make your dog overweight, and less fiber intake can trigger digestive problems. Therefore, to maintain an ideal weight and prevent digestive issues, you need to provide balanced nutrition to your dog. With Kabo recipes, your dog gets only natural whole sources of carbohydrates, such as sweet potato, squash, rice, russet potato, and chickpeas. Our recipes don’t have any fillers like wheat or corn, which are found in many store bought dry dog food brands.
With the expert guidance of our in-house animal nutritionists, we have created our fresh recipes which include only high-quality, human-grade ingredients. To keep your mixed breed safe from digestive issues while ensuring it gets the necessary vitamins and minerals, we’ve opted for functional fresh vegetables and fruits, including blueberries, broccoli, spinach, green beans, red apple, and more.
Fats provide your mixed breed more energy than carbohydrates and proteins, but you’ll have to be careful about the portions. If given in huge amounts, your dog will be prone to obesity, and cardiovascular issues. Thankfully, Kabo portions their meals to reduce the chance of over/underfeeding.
Mixed breeds sometimes get the health issues associated with their parents' breed. Often skin problems pop up, such as dry, irritated skin due lineage or environmental factors. Providing them with healthy fats is an excellent treatment for many skin and coat issues. When your dog gets healthy amounts of Omega fatty acids, they are better protected from skin issues, immune system disorders, cardiovascular disease, joint problems, etc.
Our foods are made with vital fats from lean meats. Human grade sunflower oil and fish oil are added as supplements that act as a source of both Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids, cutting off the need to take expensive supplements for your mixed pup.
I have an 11-month-old husky mix named Aurora. She is an intelligent, gorgeous puppy. From the beginning, Aurora did not like her food. When we rescued her, she was two months old. She was the second youngest born and had to fight for her food. I tried everything to get her to eat, from canned, raw, dehydrated, and different brands. She would never eat anything consistently. It was a big worry for me. Then I saw an ad for Kabo. I decided to try it as a topper for her dry food. I was shocked at her reaction. I had never seen her take to food like this before. As soon as I received the food box, she was all over the box, trying to get it open. She devoured her food from the first night of putting the topping on her food, and I never looked back. I am so happy to see her enjoy her food. I have been using Kabo for months now, and I am delighted with the ingredients and fresh smell. A husky should love her food and Kabo has helped her find her love of food!
My 3 year old dachshund and wire fox terrier mix loves her Kabo! She will not eat her kibbles by itself but mixed with some kabo toppers she eats it so fast!
I personally love how the food is packaged (compact and easy to split within different meals) and that the boxes and everything else is recyclable.
