Obesity, meat protein allergies, and sensitive stomachs are common dietary issues facing one of the world's most beloved dog breeds. Quality food is vital to keep them at a healthy weight and comfortable. In all Kabo meals, human-grade meat is the 1st ingredient. Quality proteins and custom portioning will help keep your golden retriever at their optimal weight and is suitable for those with thyroid problems.
Parents of golden retrievers which are allergic to common animal proteins such as chicken, will appreciate the Luscious Lamb recipe. Pups that are sensitive to grains can enjoy our grain-free Savoury Beef variety.
Golden retrievers require carbohydrates to provide them with energy and the fiber for digestive health. Kabo uses only natural whole sources of carbohydrates such as russet potato, sweet potato, chickpeas, squash and rice- depending on the recipe. We don’t use any fillers, corn or wheat for carbohydrates.
With no official guidance from AAFCO on carbohydrates, pet parents can rest assured- we’ve formulated our menus using our in-house animal nutritionists. Kabo only uses nutrient dense produce which adds fiber to our meals. Canadian fruits and vegetables including red apples, green beans, carrots, spinach, kale, and broccoli adds fiber to your goldens' diet and supplies them with essential vitamins, and minerals such as potassium, vitamins A, C & K, folic acid, iron, and more.
Golden retrievers' digestive tracts can be notoriously sensitive and prone to inflammation. Our chicken and rice option is gentle on their stomachs when they are upset. Also, you may notice that after a couple of weeks of feeding Kabo, their loose stools are tighter, more uniform, and they’ll be less gassy too!
Fats are an essential part of your golden retriever's balanced diet, as it is for humans. But it’s important to get just the right amount, and the right types. Goldies sometimes experience skin issues like atopic dermatitis. Including Omega fatty acids in their diets supports healthy skin, a beautiful golden coat, immune function, cardiovascular health, joint health and more.
Our food contains essential fats from lean meats, and is supplemented with fish oil and sunflower oil to provide both Omega-3 fatty acids and Omega-6 fatty acids. Great for heart and joint health. No pricey supplements required!

Honestly so glad I found Kabo when I did. My beautiful golden retriever is just over 3 months old now and is in perfect health because of her diet and exercise.
