Obesity and allergies are common dietary issues for the world's smallest dogs. Quality food is essential to keep them at a healthy weight and comfortable. In all Kabo meals, human-grade meat is the 1st ingredient. Quality proteins and custom portioning will help keep your chihuahua at their optimal weight. 

Parents of chihuahuas which are allergic to common animal proteins such as chicken, will appreciate the Luscious Lamb recipe. Those pups allergic to grains can enjoy our grain-free Savoury Beef variety.

Carbohydrates & Fiber

Chihuahuas, like yours, require carbohydrates to provide them with energy and fiber for digestive tract health. Kabo uses only natural whole sources of carbohydrates such as russet potato, sweet potato, chickpeas, squash and rice- depending on the recipe. We don’t use any fillers, corn or wheat for carbohydrates. If your chihuahua is hypoglycemic, our natural carbs will help regulate blood sugar levels between meals. 

With no official guidance from AAFCO on carbohydrates, pet parents can rest assured- we’ve formulated our menus using our in-house animal nutritionists. Kabo only uses nutrient dense produce which adds fiber to our meals. Canadian fruits and vegetables including red apples, green beans, carrots, spinach, kale, and broccoli not only lend fiber to your chihuahuas diet, but supplies them with essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals such as potassium, vitamin A, C & K, folate, iron, and more. 

Chihuahuas tiny digestive tracts can act up and be sensitive. Our chicken and rice option is perfect for when your pup’s tummy is upset. Also, you may notice that after a couple of weeks of feeding Kabo, their poops are tighter, more uniform, and they’ll be less gassy too!

Fats

Fats are an essential part of your chihuahua's balanced diet, as it is for humans. But it’s important to get just the right amount, and the right types. Chihuahuas sometimes experience skin issues. Including Omega fatty acids in their diets supports healthy skin and a shiny coat, immune function, cardiovascular health, joint health and more. 

Our food contains essential fats from lean meats, and is supplemented with fish oil and sunflower oil to provide both Omega-3 fatty acids and Omega-6 fatty acids. No pricey supplements required!
